We are so excited to announce new, longer hours for the 2023 market season! Please join us at 10 AM - 2 PM this year for an extra hour of Sisters Farmers Market! We hope our earlier start will make it easier to get your shopping done early and beat the summer heat.

This year, we welcomed more vendors than ever before, adding several new booth spaces to the map! View all of our 2023 Sisters Farmers Market vendors here. Join us on opening day to welcome back your favorite vendors and discover what’s new at the market!

Our Community Nonprofit Booth is back this year! Each week, we welcome a local nonprofit to the market to spread the word about what they do and how to get involved. Our History

Just like the city of Sisters, Oregon, the Sisters Farmers Market (SFM) has a history of continual growth.

The original “Fresh on Fridays” Farmers Market began in 2011 on Friday afternoons as a project of the Sisters Parks & Recreation District with a founding committee of four community members.

In 2013, co-managers Carys Wilkins and Benji Nagel, of local farm Mahonia Gardens, took over management and continued to grow SFM alongside co-manager Angelena Bosco. For five years they volunteered their time to manage the market, and during the 2017 season, the location was moved to Fir Street Park, just a block north of Highway 20 on Fir and Main streets.

Beginning in 2018, Rachel Kelleher came on as the manager for two seasons, alongside local resident T. Lee Brown. SFM vendor and shopper attendance grew with the additional energy these two were able to contribute together, and underwent a rebranding for the 2019 season to professionalize and define the core values of SFM. The date and time was changed to Sundays from 11am-2pm for the 2019 season.

At the start of 2020, the local non-profit farm Seed to Table officially took over the management of SFM. Seed to Table hired the first paid part-time manager, Caroline Hager, to bring the growing market the increased structure it needed. 2020 was a particularly demanding season with navigating new health and safety guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and new practices had to be developed to keep the market running all season. More elaborate infrastructures were implemented, including an online pre-ordering platform which was added to the website to provide a contactless shopping option. Despite new challenges, the 2020 SFM’s attendance of vendors, volunteers, and shoppers grew significantly from previous seasons, doubling in size by the end of the season.

In 2021, live music and interactive kids’ activities are back at the market and we couldn’t be happier. The market now welcomes an average of 28 vendors per week, featuring Local Veggies, Pantry Staples, and Arts & Crafts.

Sisters Farmers Market Program Manager

Willa (she/her) grew up working her family’s food booth at Saturday Market in Eugene. Since then, she’s spent years working with farmers markets in volunteer leadership roles and as a market vendor. Willa believes farmers markets are vital to their communities and she is looking forward to growing the Sisters Farmers Market with Seed to Table!

Before coming to Seed to Table, Willa led ToolBox Project, a nonprofit tool-lending library in Eugene, and completed a Master’s in Nonprofit Management at the University of Oregon in 2020. Willa also runs a small vegetable farm with her partner Joey in McKenzie Bridge, along with their two dogs, Ueli and Luna.
